Folding Tables – The Benefits
Choosing the best folding table for your business or venue of course depends on what your personal preferences are and there’s plenty of scope when it comes to making a decision. There are lots of different sizes and with different surface types to consider too, it’s really helpful to know what you are looking for and what you need before you start your search.
Plastic vs wooden table tops
When it comes to the surface of the table, this will be your key decision – do you choose plastic tops or wooden tops? Again it goes without saying that personal preference plays a part but there are a few things to note about each folding table surface. Tables with plastic tops are usually a little lighter and therefore easier to handle and move around a venue or in and out of storage as required. Wooden tops, despite often having visible rivets on the surface are still perhaps a little more stylish – especially when not using a tablecloth.
Both plastic and wooden tops are extremely easy to clean, with the plastic possibly having a slight advantage, but a quick wipe down of either surface and they are good to go. As we’ve already mentioned, once a nice tablecloth is covering the surface, there really is little difference.
We really should talk about this simple yet crucial function – the actual folding. Most of the tables we stock fold flat but there are one or two exceptions which actually fold in half. There are lots of benefits to be found here. Folding the tables flat means that in most cases they can also be stacked which helps when you need to clean the venue or you want to move tables to another location or place them into storage for a while. If you have a table trolley, moving them around becomes particularly user friendly. You might be doing a car boot sale and you need to take a couple of tables with you – simply fold them flat (or in half) put them into your car or van and set them up at the venue. If it’s an outdoor boot sale, then perhaps the blow moulded plastic tables are your best bet – any rain or mud can quickly be wiped off and dried with a towel. If it’s an indoor venue, then either table surface will work equally well.
Shapes and Sizes
Another very important consideration is the shape and size of the table you need. If you are doing indoor and outdoor boot sales, then perhaps a variety of shapes and sizes will prove to be particularly useful. Our largest rectangular table is a plastic, fold in half model and fully assembled is stands at 8ft long and 2ft 6in wide. When folded in half, it features a carry handle which means it’s very easy to move around and is ideal for indoors and outdoors.
At the other end of the size spectrum, the 2ft 6in square table is one of the smallest folding tables we stock. It can prove to be a very handy size – if you have a corner to fill or even as a wedding cake table. It may be small but it’s extremely sturdy and as with the majority of our tables, requires no assembly – once removed from it packaging it’s ready for action.
There are also a good selection of round folding tables with both wooden and plastic surfaces. Typically ranging in size from around 4ft to 6ft – although there are some exceptions too. So, it all depends on your requirements whether you choose round, square or rectangular tables. There’s even a half moon shaped table which can be very handy if you need to put a table tight against a wall.
What’s it for?
If you were to call us and ask us about our tables (please do), perhaps one of the first things we would ask you is “what’s it for?” Knowing what you need the tables for can really help us to point you in the right direction. We’ve already mentioned boot sales. However, these folding tables are really versatile and can be used in a whole range of ways and venues. Need a simple decorating table? Are you planning a street party for a special event? Do you run a church hall and need to replace the now aging and broken tables? Do you run a pub or a restaurant and need to bring out a few extra tables when things get really busy? They could be the difference between making a little extra money and turning customers away.
We could go on and tell you lots more about our folding tables but why don’t you head over to the main website and browse the various options and for lots more information – then when you’re ready give us a call and we’ll be ready to help.
