The shipping industry is currently experiencing it’s most volatile period in over 50 years, due to significant market forces and global supply chain disruption. Unfortunately, the short term outlook predicts even more volatility with even higher ‘rates per container’ – with no clear end in sight.
To offer some perspective, 12 months ago a 40 ft High Cube container (most commonly used) would cost around $1800 from Asia to the UK. Today, we are having to pay around $18,500 with figures projected to exceed $20,000 in the coming weeks/months. With such drastic changes, we must ensure our business remains commercially viable. It’s for this reason, that all quotations will be priced based on the current shipping rates, but may be subject to a small shipping surcharge if the cost of shipping increases beyond a $1000 dollars from point of order.
We remain committed to supplying the very best products, carefully sourced across 11 countries including the UK – at great prices. We are closely monitoring shipping news and working with our shipping agents in order to remain informed and pro-active.
Below, is an article published in Lloyds Loading List – which is the most comprehensive overview of the current global shipping crisis.

For stock items the standard delivery is usually 2 – 3 working days after receipt of order.
If the delivery lead time will be longer than this (due to product code ordered or delivery postcode) then we will advise you accordingly, we advise you call prior to placing the order to ensure we have the sufficient stock available.
Next Day Delivery* can be arranged at an additional cost although you must call us (0800 888 6263) ahead of placing your order to confirm this delivery option is available for your specific order.
Delivery method:
The delivery method we use is dependent on the product, quantity, delivery location and delivery deadline.
Larger deliveries are palletised and delivered to the kerbside only and it is the customers responsibility to move the goods into the premises.
Smaller quantities of goods are usually delivered through a parcel company.
If delivery is attempted and failed, then re-delivery charges may apply. Saturday delivery can be arranged but this will incur an additional charge.
Once you have received your delivery, please take care in checking the items are not damaged or missing.
If there is an issue with your order, you must contact us within 24 hours at sales@ningbo.co.uk with the following information:
